Agata Stronciwilk

I am an art historian and cultural studies expert specializing in contemporary Polish art, affiliated at ]the Institute of Art Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice. I was awarded a Fulbright Slavic Award for the year 2022/2023 at the University of Washington in Seattle.

I am an art historian and cultural studies expert specializing in contemporary Polish art. Since 2021, I have been employed at the Institute of Art Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. In 2019 I received a Ph.D. in cultural studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice. During my studies, I started working in the Education Department at Silesian Museum in Katowice, where I dealt with Polish art from the 19th to 21st century and Upper Silesian cultural heritage. In the years 2017-2022, I worked at the Art Department at Jan Dlugosz University in Częstochowa, where I also held the position of Faculty Spokesperson and Dean’s Plenipotentiary for the art education program.I conducted guest lectures at the Universities in: Turku (Finland), Kathmandu (Nepal), Sofia (Bulgaria), Warwick (Great Britain) and Tours (France). 

I was awarded a Fulbright Slavic Award for the year 2022/2023 at the University of Washington in Seattle. I also received a scholarship at the Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies at the University of Alberta in Edmonton (Canada). In my free time I create paintings.
