Justyna Janiszewska

Executive Director, Management Board member

I manage the Commission’s team, implement our plans, and cooperate with key partners of the foundation, such as the U.S. Department of State, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, universities, and other entities with whom we jointly carry out our mission. I am also involved in building relationships and projects for the alumni of our programs.

Ever since I started my studies, I have been continuously engaged in the nonprofit sector as a volunteer and an employee. Before joining the Fulbright Commission, I had worked for 10 years at the Education for Democracy Foundation (FED) – one of the leading Polish non-governmental organizations operating in the former USSR – including managing the FED’s grant programs. I have collaborated with, among others, the School for Leaders, Grupa Zagranica, Stefan Batory Foundation, One World Association, Service Civil International, and Amnesty International. I am a member of the Board of the Leaders of Change Foundation. I graduated in political science from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and completed an Executive MBA course at the Kozminski University.

I believe that traveling helps us grow, and I put it into practice not only at work while sending grantees to another continent but also privately, by showing Poland and the world to my sons. After work, I practice pilates and learn foreign languages.
