Dorothy Hansberry-Bieguńska

Competition law expert with significant litigation experience, co-founder of the Hansberry-Tomkiel competition law boutique.

Ms. Hansberry-Bieguńska worked as a senior trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division for 16 years. She also served as an advisor to several competition authorities in Eastern and Central Europe. She was the general counsel and vice president of UPC Poland and went on to manage another Polish media company. Five years ago, after heading a competition practice team as a senior partner in a Polish law firm, she and Małgorzata Krasnodębska-Tomkiel, a former Chairman of the Polish Competition Authority, founded Hansberry Tomkiel, a competition law boutique. The firm provides strategic advice and representation in complex competition cases in Poland, Brussels and the US.

Ms. Hansberry-Bieguńska, has been widely recognized internationally and nationally as a leading practitioner in her field by Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers, Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, PLC Which Lawyer, and Global Competition Review’s “Women in Antitrust.”

Ms. Hansberry-Bieguńska has been the Chairman of the Irish Polish Chamber of Commerce for the last five years. She recently completed serving a revolving post as the President of the International Chambers of Commerce in Poland.
