In mid-March, thanks to the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, we had the opportunity to organize an exceptional event.
More than 40 representatives from International Cooperation Offices and Doctoral Schools across Poland joined us in the Ministry’s conference room for an informational and networking meeting dedicated to Fulbright scholarships. We were truly delighted by the turnout!
The event was opened by Undersecretary of State at the Ministry (and a member of our Board), Andrzej Szeptycki, who emphasized the crucial role of International Cooperation Offices and Doctoral Schools in promoting opportunities for research and study abroad – and more broadly, in the internationalization of Polish universities. As a political scientist, Minister Szeptycki also highlighted the significance of academic exchange with the United States, particularly in today’s global context.
Patrycja Donaburska and Ania Kertyczak presented our scholarship offer, providing a step-by-step overview of the different opportunities available for various target groups and key points to consider when informing potential applicants.
The meeting also featured four Fulbright Program Ambassadors from Częstochowa, Kraków, Poznań, and Warsaw. They shared their experiences from their time in the U.S., reflecting on how their scholarships have continued to benefit them – often even years later.
Attendees from International Cooperation Offices and Doctoral Schools engaged actively, asking many insightful questions, demonstrating genuine interest, and a strong willingness to spread the word about the Fulbright Program.
Following the presentations, we moved into a networking session, where – in a more informal setting – we had the chance to connect with participants, discuss challenges in promoting internationalization, and strengthen our relationships. We feel that this event not only allowed us to get to know university representatives better but also helped them become more familiar with the Fulbright team.
This event was made possible through collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, to whom we extend our sincere gratitude for their hospitality. A reminder that in Poland, the Fulbright Program operates thanks to funding from both the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the U.S. Department of State.
