The United States Ambassador to Poland, Mark Brzezinski, appointed Ms. Monica Damberg-Ott to the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission Board as of June 20, 2024.
Monica Damberg-Ott started as U.S. Embassy Warsaw’s Cultural Attaché in August 2023. She joined the U.S. Department of State in 2009 and most recently served as the Deputy Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 2019-2022. Previous U.S. Foreign Service assignments include Consular Officer in Dakar, Senegal; Political/Economic Officer in Chennai, India; Cultural and Exchanges Coordinator in the East Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau; and Western Europe Public Diplomacy Desk Officer in the European and Eurasian Affairs Bureau.
Monica is a recipient of the Council of American Ambassadors’ Kathryn W. Davis Public Diplomacy Fellowship. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Monica worked in advertising in New York. She has a BA in International Relations from Boston University and a MA in International Relations and Diplomacy from American University in Paris, France.
Monica speaks Polish, French, and Vietnamese. Originally from Orient Point, New York, she is married to fellow U.S. Foreign Service Officer, Gaetan Damberg-Ott, with whom she has two young daughters.
