Who I am:
As a PhD Candidate at the Intercollegiate Doctoral School of Biotechnology of the University of Gdansk and the Medical University of Gdansk, working at the Laboratory of Virus Molecular Biology, I am involved in exploring the dynamics of autophagy in viral infections. My research focuses on studying chaperone-mediated autophagy motifs and their contribution to human health and disease.
My BioLAB work in the lab focuses on:
At the Center for Public Health Genomics, my BioLAB project, supervised by Josyf C. Mychaleckyj (M.A., D. Phil.), focuses on the comprehensive analysis of human omics data. This research is dedicated to uncovering potential causes of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). We aim to understand the mechanisms of SIDS, identify crucial biomarkers and develop potential diagnostic tools. Our goal is to advance understanding and prevention strategies, potentially reducing the incidence of SIDS.
I decided to apply for a BioLAB program because:
The BioLAB Program represents a unique opportunity to enhance my research skills and collaborate with leading scientists in an international setting. I am particularly excited about the potential to engage with pioneering research in genomic technologies, which I believe will elevate my capabilities and impact in the field.
After completing my BioLAB Program I would like to:
Upon completing the BioLAB Program, I aim to leverage the experience and knowledge gained to further my career as a biomedical Data Scientist. I am particularly interested in applying advanced data analysis techniques to complex biological data, with the goal of improving therapeutic processes and patient outcomes in clinical settings.
