Inez Mruk

Who I am:
I am a PhD student at the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology, University of Gdańsk and Medical University of Gdańsk. My research focuses on exploring the proteome and peptidome composition of follicular fluid in relation to oocyte fertilization potential.

My BioLAB work in the lab focuses on:
I am joining Professor Marcos Sotomayor’s group at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Center for Mechanical Excitability at the University of Chicago. During my stay, I will be working on developing biomolecular tools to investigate the mechanics of proteins essential for inner-ear function.

I decided to apply for a BioLAB program because:
I applied to the BioLab program because it will open many doors in the scientific world and support my development as a young researcher. The program’s structure and the enthusiastic feedback from previous participants were also very encouraging.

After completing my stay on BioLAB Program I would like to:
After completing the program, I plan to stay in academia and continue my scientific career as a postdoctoral researcher.
