Who I am:

I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science, fascinated by deciphering the language of God: DNA. Since 2010, I’ve been conducting bioinformatics research to understand DNA’s functions. As an educator and mentor, I’m committed to positively impacting young minds. I enjoy a variety of hobbies and am always eager to learn new ones. The next one is learning the Polish language.

My Fulbright grant focuses on:

My Fulbright grant involves teaching and conducting bioinformatics research based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). I will teach two courses in bioinformatics; one of them is with a focus on AI applications in bioinformatics. My research project aims to develop a vocabulary for DNA using an AI technique imported from natural language processing.

I decided to apply for a Fulbright grant because:

This Fulbright award will allow me to experience Poland for the first time, expanding my global experience as a human, as a teacher, and as a scientist. There are multiple reasons why I chose Poland. First, Poland has a rich history and very interesting culture. Second, I have American friends who are third-generation Polish. Third, I have collaborators at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland.

After completing my Fulbright grant I would like to:

I would like to return to the USA and bring all my experiences in Poland with me. Additionally, I’d like to continue collaborating with my Polish colleagues and keep in touch with my Polish friends. Perhaps, I will win a Nobel Prize one day!
