Who I am:
I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University. My research interests lie in computer security and distributed systems. The long-term objective of my research is to bring cutting-edge cryptographic techniques to real-world applications to shape tomorrow’s digital world. I am particularly interested in the security and privacy issues users face as a result of engaging in online activities as well as building a stronger foundation for systems and networks. Most recently, I have been focusing on provable security for real-world protocols. My current work is supported by the National Science Foundation Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) program.
My Fulbright grant focuses on:
In collaboration with the researchers at the National Research Institute (NASK), I plan to develop a long-term strategy for the implementation of an eIDAS 2.0 compliant digital identity wallet for Poland, a critical component of the EU’s initiative to make a universal digital identity ecosystem, where electronic transactions can have the same legal validity as traditional paper-based transaction, a reality.
In addition, I also aim to further diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals by working with NASK’s DEI team on closing the tech gender gap through cybersecurity action activities for young girls (K-6) as well as young professionals.
I decided to apply for a Fulbright grant because:
Completing my project at NASK brings together my core research interests with a real-world deployment scenario giving me an opportunity to exponentially scale the real-world application of my research in a way that would not be reproducible in another setting.
After completing my Fulbright grant I would like to:
Through my Fulbright grant, I am excited to build expertise in implementing a large-scale digital identity ecosystem that meets real-world regulatory and deployment requirements. I would like to apply this expertise to support the creation and development of a robust digital identity ecosystem in the United States.
