Who I am:
I’m a young aspiring scientist whose life goal is to explore, discover, and study the fundamentals of biology, with a main focus on cell biology, immunology, and cancer, particularly its resistance to therapy. I’m currently pursuing my MSc in Molecular Biotechnology at the Jagiellonian University, where I’m leading my own grant-awarded project titled “Effects of the Presence and Localization of Heme Oxygenase-1 on the Structure and Function of the Nuclear Envelope.” In addition to that, I’m conducting numerous other experiments as part of my master’s thesis.

I’m a hardcore science enthusiast, I think of science as my “oxygen”; I simply can’t live without it. Because of that, no matter where I am or what I’m doing, my mind is always filled with ideas and thoughts about new experiments. For me, science is not merely work, it is my life. 🙂

Beyond university work, I actively engage in science popularization activities. I organize biology, chemistry, and mathematics workshops for middle and high school pupils. Additionally, I’m the coordinator of the MMS Academy project, which organizes science outreach lectures by prominent scientists from across the country (such as Prof. Andrzej Dragan, Prof. Łukasz Kaczmarek, and Prof. Wojciech Glac) for homeschooled children and young adults in Poland.

My BioLAB work in the lab focuses on:
During my BioLAB internship, I will work in the laboratory of Prof. Anthony Kossiakoff on a project aimed at identifying novel molecular markers for immunotherapies such as BiTEs (Bi-Specific T-cell Engagers) and CAR-Ts (Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cells). I’ll have the opportunity to approach these challenges from bench to bedside, discovering new markers and assessing their potential in both in vitro and in vivo scenarios.

I decided to apply for a BioLAB program because:

For someone as devoted to science as I am, this decision was a no-brainer. Ever since I first heard about the program during my early university years, I knew it was something I had to pursue. The United States is home to some of the most cutting-edge science and leading researchers, and I’ve always dreamed of working alongside outstanding scientists.

After completing my stay on BioLAB Program I would like to:
Pursue a PhD focused on immunotherapy, particularly CAR-T cell therapy. I aim to contribute to the continued advancement of knowledge around the efficacy, mechanisms, and interactions between adoptive cell therapies and cancer. Ultimately, I hope to establish my own research group dedicated to advancing humanity’s fight against cancer.
