Who I am:
Currently, I am a first-year Masters student of Medical Biotechnology at the University of Warsaw. My scientific interests revolve around epigenetic regulation of the genome as well as regulation of gene expression. During my bachelor’s, my research focused on the impact of chromatin state on the frequency of crossing-over, and now I am researching the interplay of transcription factors and epigenetics in brain cancer. Besides my passion for science, I also sing in the University of Warsaw Choir, and I love hiking and jogging.
My BioLAB work in the lab focuses on:
During my BioLAB project I will be researching the epigenetics of cancer, focusing on the organization of heterochromatin at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. My work will include getting to understand spatial genome organization with DNA fluorescence in situ, as well as editing the genome using genetic engineering techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9.
I decided to apply for a BioLAB program because:
I have been looking for ways to advance my scientific career, and the BioLAB program stood out to me because of its amazing opportunity to spend a year learning how to be an independent researcher. I think it will be a great way to gain experience in the lab with the potential to escalate my career. After completing my stay on BioLAB Program I would like to:
I would like to finish my Masters and PhD and become a researcher in the field of epigenetics.
