Who I am:

I am a clinical psychologist specializing in the area of children and families that have experienced significant trauma and early childhood mental health. My long career has focused on providing mental health care to children and their families, developing and overseeing child/family mental health programs, mentoring young mental health clinicians/medical students and providing educational experiences to students and mental health providers in my areas of specialization.

My Fulbright grant focuses on:

My focus is on teaching and mentoring.  I will be providing courses in the areas of Complex Trauma and the Impact on Children and an Introduction to Early Childhood Mental Health. I will also be: mentoring clinical psychology masters’ students’ clinical work; community trainings on trauma; and workshops on childhood trauma at SWPS’ other 5 campuses in Poland.

I decided to apply for a Fulbright grant because:

My ancestors come from Poland and I wanted to experience an immersion into my grandparents’ culture.

My primary reason was to have a fully immersed international experience in working at a Polish University with their diverse student body. My hope is to provide them with a unique coursework that would enrich their curriculum. My hope is to develop a lifelong relationship with my host institution.

After completing my Fulbright grant I would like to:

My hope is to maintain a long relationship with my host institution. As an educator, I hope to be able to have an understanding about how other cultures think about childhood trauma and the social emotional development of young children. I will be able to integrate this new found knowledge into my trainings when I return home.
