English Teaching Assistant

Teaching English

Who I am:

I hail from the foothills of the Rockies, the sixth generation of my family to be from Wyoming. After graduating high school, I attended an additional year of schooling in Koszalin, PL as an exchange student in liceum. I made lifelong friends, gained invaluable skills, and even picked up a bit of Polish.

Upon returning home, I earned my Honors Bachelors of Science in Environmental Economics and Policy from Oregon State University. Though, it was during my tenure at my university’s writing and research center that I discovered the joy of teaching and working with language. I am an avid reader, writer, and, as noted by my loved ones, talker. I love sharing that passion with others while learning their perspectives.

On a personal note, I love to spend time in the great outdoors – making Wałbrzych a great placement for me. Further, Wyoming is the leading coal producer in the US, so I look forward to seeing the cross-cultural connections between international extraction communities. Whether it is discussing my strong opinions on TV or talking about the complexities of connotations, I am eager to work with the students of ASSU and the community beyond.

My Fulbright grant focuses on:

As an English Teaching Assistant, I help university students studying English. From conversational fluency to confidence building, I am here to help the students in any way I can. I especially hope to instill an understanding of digital literacy and information efficacy in English.

I decided to apply for a Fulbright grant because:

I am from the least populated state in the US, about as densely populated as Mongolia. Since I was a kid, I had the drive to see and learn as much from the world as possible. Fulbright provided me the opportunity to see that world while also engaging in meaningful personal development and teaching experiences.

After completing my Fulbright grant I would like to:

I look forward to attending law school to earn a J.D./M.S.W. dual degree. I hope to combine my passion for social justice, extroversion, and interest in law to work in indigent defense and other public interest fields.
