Benjamin Field
Teaching English
Who I am:
I’m a recent graduate of Northeastern University, and I’m from Boston Massachusetts. My degree is in BioEngineering, with a concentration in cell & tissue engineering. Beginning in October 2024, I will be teaching English at Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, and I am very excited to immerse myself in Polish culture! Some of my other interests include long distance running (I plan to run either the Krakow or Warsaw marathon), cooking, traveling, and exploring my city. I am so thrilled at the opportunity to come to Bydgoszcz and experience what the city has to offer.
My Fulbright grant focuses on:
As an ETA, I will be teaching English to students at Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, with an emphasis on teaching technical and professional English skills. While there, I plan to become involved in the university with research and by taking courses.
I decided to apply for a Fulbright grant because:
I want to get more hands-on experience with teaching, and the Fulbright ETA position was the perfect fit for me. I also am very interested in Polish culture and history, and Fulbright allows me to really immerse myself, while also providing lots of support for me while I am there.
After completing my Fulbright grant I would like to:
I plan to gain a few years of industry experience in a cell/gene therapy research setting, and then to enroll in a synthetic biology-related PhD program. Ultimately, my goal is to work in a university setting, in research and/or as a lecturer.
