Who Are We Looking For?
Fulbright Poland welcomes applicants from all backgrounds who:
- Demonstrate a clear interest in conducting projects specifically in Poland. For research and teaching grants, we seek well-defined, feasible projects that incorporate strong research methodologies or syllabi reflecting effective pedagogical approaches. For ETAs, demonstrate skills and a strong interest in teaching English as a second language at the university level.
- Can clearly articulate their ideas – what they want to do, how, and why they want to conduct their Fulbright grant in Poland – as well as the expected impact of the grant on their future plans and career.
- Exhibit ambassadorial values and skills to foster mutual understanding and cultural exchange while in Poland.
Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program
- 4-10 months lecturing grants or 3-10 months research grants in Poland for American citizens with a Ph.D. or terminal degree.
- Open to candidates from all disciplines with established relationships with a Polish host institution.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program – Student Researchers
- 9-10 months research grants in Poland for American citizens who have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree but have not yet earned a Ph.D.
- Open to candidates from all disciplines with established relationships with a Polish host institution.
- Need help finding a host institution? We can assist you before you submit your application!
Fulbright U.S. Student Program – English Teaching Assistant (ETA)
- 9-months grants for teaching or co-teaching practical English language classes at Polish higher education institutions.
- Open to U.S. citizens who have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree but have not yet earned a Ph.D.
- ETAs are placed in smaller academic institutions, where access to native English speakers is limited, ensuring a meaningful impact.
